If you’re tired of staying stuck in hurt or shame, then it’s time to get past the past. It’s not an easy process, but neither is living in hurt.
This book gives you tools to help you get your life back. You still have to put in the work. And a lot of it isn’t fun. It’s facing things you’d rather not. But if you put the time in, you can experience transformation. There’s too much to do to stay stuck.

Great read (and future re-read)!
While the self-care world touts different strategies to try and help us find peace in the busyness of life, Amber did a wonderful job reminding us of where we should be going to truly find rest – spending time with God and in the Word. Her metaphor on page 29 was a perfect illustration of this. I am so happy to have a copy of Soul Care as it will be a book that I read again, loan out to friends, and reference in the future!
(Review of “Soul Care”)
Wisdom with a fresh perspective. It makes a good morning devotion – strengthening, uplifting, a good way to face the day.
(Review of “The Key to Confidence” on Amazon)
At a time in my life that I have friends dealing with loss of family or friends, retired or widowed friends, or friends where I am aware that they are hurting due to numerous situations, I deeply appreciated Amber’s approach to dealing with life’s hurts as a Christian would choose to handle such hurts.
The suggested future studies and prayer after the chapters helped solidify and strengthen what we learned in each chapter.
I am grateful that I have this resource to give to or at least recommend to those I know that may be hurting or need hope in God for any future situations. -Karen

So Excellent for a time such as this!
Sit down with a friend (Amber, author) and hear the truth that works for really taking care of yourself. God’s way works and gives lasting hope and healing. This has become one of my favorite books, re-read and highlighted. I love that she reminds us that we may have heard this before, but need to keep coming back to the Word of God to drink in the spiritual nourishment, and that’s ok. Secular self-care can have its place, but what points to Christ is deep soul care. -Laura

I am halfway through this book and have learned so much already! Amber’s writing is easy to read and intertwines scriptures with ease. My favorite part is the discussion questions at the end. They are immediately applicable! Thank you for this wonderful book! I have written so many notes in it already! -Tara

I listen to Amber when she & Pastor Mike have a conversation on Time of Grace. She is so down to earth in her views & brings some humor into the conversation. I feel like she is not just an author, blogger & does podcasts but answers questions before you ask.
Thank you Amber. -Annette
My life has been totally transformed by Pastor Mike and Amber Albee Swenson’s teaching of The Word. I am eternally grateful! (Comment via ToG)
Thank you for what you do, for being open to God’s leading, and thank you to your family for their willingness to share some of their time with you, so that you can share the Word of God with thousands of others. (via email)
Love this book, I read all different types of books and this one had me hooked! It was both refreshing and real. It was a good reminder that not all the choices we make are going to be easy or right but that forgiveness can heal.

With the book written for women, I was obviously not the intended audience, but I found the volume very edifying nonetheless. I have no doubt it should prove even more instructive and encouraging for the intended readership.

Not looking for more. Not chasing anything. Just resting in God’s presence and love.
When you feel like there’s not enough time in the day we go back to Jesus’ words and make soul care a priority.
How often do you live in the land of “what if?” Start doing these three things instead!
